As President of Temm & Associates, Inc., Dr. Temm is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of consulting engagements across the country. Dr. Temm provides overall direction and expertise in the advancement of health care strategies, including the development of innovative programs. Her ability to translate strategic vision into tactical initiatives has allowed her to increase profitability, grow revenues, develop innovative cost containment measures, advance the access and availability of health care services, increase market share for our clients, and increase performance outcomes, while ensuring the highest quality of care. Dr. Temm is proficient at handling complex working relationships, including balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders. Her reputation for innovation through collaboration has attracted many clients.

Dr. Temm has over thirty years of experience within the public and private health care sectors. As the founder of Temm & Associates, Inc., Dr. Temm has led a variety of successful projects including the successful design and development of the contracting efforts of a large HMO in obtaining a five-year Medicaid integrated (physical and behavioral health) contract valued at over $5.3 billion in revenue; directed the implementation of key operational start-up functions for a variety of clients including numerous Long Term Care Services and Support (LTSS) programs, Patient-Centered Medical Homes, Medical Homes, Integrated Health Homes, Accountable Care Organizations and HMOs.

In conjunction with her research on Patient-Centered Medical Homes, Dr. Temm has received National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Content Expert Certification (CEC). Dr. Temm has assisted numerous practices in their transformation and adoption of the PCMH standards, including implementation of electronic information systems.

Before founding the firm in 1992, Dr. Temm created and served as the chief executive officer for one of the nation’s first managed Long-Term Care health plans, as well as executive director of various Medicaid managed care organizations. Dr. Temm has extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in health plan design, business development, clinical operations and strategies, integrated care delivery, and population health management.

Dr. Temm serves on several health care organizations’ Boards. As a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), Academy of Management, and AcademyHealth, Dr. Temm often partners with clients to serve as faculty for educational programs. She is also a frequent speaker at educational conferences for state and national health care associations on topics such as managed care, managed long term care programs, integrated service delivery models, Patient-Centered Medical Homes, Accountable Care Organizations, and alignment of financial incentives for optimal outcomes.

Dr. Temm holds a Doctor of Science (DSc) in Administration – Health Services from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a Masters in Health Services Administration from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in accounting from Benedictine College.
